Application: Sewage works aeration pipes

A large sewage treatment works needed to measure air flows in aeration feed pipe.

Flows could not be shut down but the pipes could be "hot tapped" to allow a small valve to be fitted.

• Pipe Size:  600mm

• Pipe Material: Steel

• Flowrate:   25000 m3/hr

• Temperature: 100 DegC

Solution

• Hoentzsch Thermal Mass flowmeters were installed

• The sensors are inserted into the pipes via 1" valves

• No flow shutdown was required
